Usually Marguerite’s the one doing the interviewing, but in the first episode of the Community Marketing for Real Estate Podcast, the tables are turned and Alyssa’s the one asking the questions.
After 14+ years of actively selling real estate in Tacoma, WA, Marguerite now focuses on creating content for her community marketing website, MovetoTacoma.com. Instead of transacting traditionally, Marguerite makes her living connecting clients to awesome real estate agents. Marguerite makes her money 100% from referral fees from those agents, a business model she calls “matchmaking.”
So, how does it all work?
Marguerite shares all of her juicy behind-the-scenes secrets, AND we talk about how the heck she managed to move to a new city (gasp—a city that’s not Tacoma!) while maintaining her referral biz.
We also talk about:
- The early wild west days of the internet and how content creation helped Marguerite survive the ~2008 recession as a real estate agent
- The immensely popular Move to Tacoma Podcast (community marketing at its finest!) and the strategy behind it
- Workaholism/capitalism/cyclical productivity/burnout (you know, the small things!)
- Depression!
- Phone nannies (what?)
- Going on sabbatical as a real estate agent
Thanks for tuning in!
